We have been teaching Muay Thai Kickboxing at IMC for over 40 years. In that time, we have never seen this Martial Art be as popular as it is today!
This year, IMC is going above and beyond to help our students reach their goals through Muay Thai training. We have introduced more classes for both children and adults this year across our 7 locations. We have 2 training tours in Thailand scheduled and have re-worked our syllabus to incorporate new skills and drills from this constantly evolving art!
- Muay Thai is simple to learn
While there are hundreds of intricate techniques, it is also a Martial Art known for its simplicity. The low barrier to entry makes this the style for everyone – men, women and children. In fact, many people only require one or two introductory lessons to be able to keep up with the rest of the class!
- It is a highly effective Self-Defence
Muay Thai uses eight limbs – Fists, Elbows, Knees and Legs – to be able to strike efficiently and powerfully from all ranges and angles. It’s techniques have been practiced and refined over hundreds of years to create a system that gives people the confidence to be able to defend themselves.
- Muay Thai Kickboxing is a KILLER workout
While no one is required to jump in the ring at any point in their journey, Muay Thai training at IMC is designed to push towards the level of fitness and toughness required for ring competition even for recreational practitioners.
This makes Muay Thai a very effective form of exercise. With continued training, you can expect improvements in your strength, dexterity, and cardiovascular performance. With some classes burning upwards of 600 Calories an hour!
